RECYCLED DECORATION: THE LAMP TO BE CONVERTED INTO A VASE

I cannot deny it, recycled decoration or inventing new decoration by reusing objects that already had or do not work is an obsession for me. And it’s something I want to incite you to discover with such a simple example.

Most people tell me, «I have no idea», or «I’m not good at that». I honestly tell you: stop making excuses, because you have a head and two hands and use your creativity, even if you do not think you do everyone has it, it brings great health benefits, and especially for the wallet!

So my advice is: before you put something in the trash, stop to think if you there is any part to it that is valuable. Although at that time you may not know why, if you have space, save it (if it has a minimum potential of course).

After reading that you will think I have Diogenes syndrome. The truth is that more than once I have taken relics from the garbage, but NO, I am not that extreme.

My number one priority is order at home and for that, the first thing is cleanliness. And how do I do it then? Well I have set as storage limit a part of the dresser in the living room where I keep things of decoration that I change between seasons or simply for a change. What can fit there can be left, what cannot, goes straight to the garbage.

With this method, we had stored there a lamp that no longer worked and used on the bedside table. The lamp was tactile, with no switch, and was turned on by touching the metal base. The truth is that I was not sure how I could fix it but thinking that maybe I could use the tulip ball or some part of the electric mechanism I kept it.

Last Saturday I woke up inspired and with just 4 things I had at home, I managed to reuse the tulip as a vase.

I am a 100% natural plants person, I love them and I have them all over the house as you can see here: The decoration of my living room, Changes in the decoration of the living room or Result of irrigation on vacation.

But I have a problem in the bathroom, and it is that there is no window so there is neither light nor ventilation. To put a plant there would be to condemn it and I would not do that to one of my little plants! With how much I take care of them!

That’s why this recycled decoration solution has been ideal for the bathroom, a mono vase with some artificial leaves that provide the green touch that is needed.

As you have seen in the video, in order to nail the twigs I used decorative sand for plants. You can find it in all colors on any site that sells decoration, even in Ikea.
