DIY: PLANT STAND WITH WHEELS

Today I want to teach you one of those easy DIY’s that do not need much explanation but are practical and showful, a support for pots with wheels. It comes very handy for larger plants and makes their mobility easier when you want to water them, clean them, change them, clean them, etc.

To make this support for DIY pots the materials are the ones you see in the photo:

  1. A round wooden tray
  2. 4 wheels
  3. Screws, whose length do not completely pass through the tray.
  4. Hammer and screwdriver.

In my case I found the tray in a home decoration store called Muy mucho for € 6.95. I bought the wheels in Bauhausand they cost me € 6.99 each.

I leave a selection of wooden trays that could be used to make this support for mobile plants, with their measurements, prices and links to stores and where to find them (click on each photo to see the information):

Purchase links:  1. Amazon; 2. Chuches online; 3. Ebay; 4. Hands and Woods; 5. Hands and Woods; 6. Habitat; 7. Bauhaus; 8. H&M. 9. Mi fiesta de papel

The assembly process is very simple since it only consists of screwing the wheels to the base of the tray.

Mark the position, nail the screw a bit with the hammer and screw to the end.

In my case, the aesthetics of untreated natural wood and vintage wheels in wood color and black was what best suited my decoration.

In addition, having a Pot with color on it strengthens the contrasts more and looks better.

But you could also paint the tray with some Chalk Paint paint of a soft color that fits your decor and it would look great.

I prefer to take the plants to the kitchen to water them since I can remove the excess water that remains in the decorative pot or plate. Also removing the dried leaves is always more practical with the trash bin by your side.

So I’m going to use this stand with wheels for the biggest plant I have for now, the Dracaena Marginata. Now it is easier to move it to water, clean, etc.
