DESIGN FURNITURE FOR PETS

In times when fewer and fewer children are born, pets have become the king of house. With this has emerged the movement, or fashion, of pet-friendly houses where furniture and accessories adapt to both the animals and the design and decoration of a cozy and stylish home. The question is: can pet furniture be a design piece in itself that harmonizes with the house? The answer is clear: YES. You can have a well decorated home with harmony and style and be compatible with baby or pet accessories. For this we are going to see some examples of design furniture for pet cats and dogs that are both practical and functional

Meyou offers an alternative to combine the needs of cats and the expectations of owners.

Their four star products are these cat beds (The BALL, The CUBE, The BED, The NEST) in which they feel protected and add a touch of design to the house.

Its products are made of solid wood, woven cotton, and 100% wool felt. These natural and noble materials are often used for furniture and are easily integrated with the rest of the decoration.

CAT TABLE – LYCS Architecture

A table that is a work desk and at the same time a games’ table for the cat. The table is made of wood and has tunnels and openings through which the animal can move in and out. In its version 2.0 the Cat Table is transformed into adaptable modular cube furniture that can be stacked as a tower game.

It consists of 4 wooden cubes of exactly the same size. Each one has a different path for the cat to play.

They can be used directly as stools, stacked, placed on a side table or on a shelf, since cats love heights.

CUBIC PET GOODS – Nendo

A cube-shaped dog house consisting of two pieces, a top and a bottom, connected through a zip. When the top is crushed down, the dog house can be used as a bed.

You can find the house in four colors.

LUNAR BOX – Design Studio MAS

The design of LUNARBOX is based on the fact that most cats like to feel safe in certain spaces. Thus, they began with the shape of a box and cut off part of one of the corners to produce the opening.

The box can be used as a single unit or stacked and arranged creating a play area where the cat can climb, come down and relax. The boxes are held together by strong neodymium magnets.

LUNARBOX is made of birch plywood and you can find it in three sizes and three different colors. Combined they give a very dynamic and cool result. But if you keep it in a single tone you get a piece of Nordic style that fits any type of color palette.

These cat caves are a very cool and affordable option.

They are 100% merino wool cat caves. Carefully crafted from natural wool fibers, they are comfortable as well as antibacterial and naturally passable. Natural fibers are safe, comfortable and non-toxic.

It keeps the cat warm when the weather is cool and cool when it is warm so they are a great alternative to a traditional pet bed.

Another affordable option for a much more boho decor is this Indian pet tent.

Cat Tipis are made in 100% cotton canvas. Prints are applied by hand. The sticks are of Russian birch laced with leather lace. Its price is 59 $.

DIY PET FURNITURE

Finally we arrive at my favorite section. If you are as loving as I am of do it yourself I am sure you will love these options. I leave you in each one a link to the post-tutorial.

DIY 1 – HOME BED

The cottage beds are a trend for children as we saw in the post How to decorate a baby room, but why not for your dog or cat?

DIY 2 –PET BOWL STAND

This DIY seems like a super idea to me. Dogs and cats, especially the first ones if they are big, eat much more pleasantly if they have the food at their same height. You can make this feeder / drinker, according to the size of your dishes and the height of your pet.

DIY 3 – HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL SCRAPER

Cats need to sharpen their nails. It is advisable to have a vertical and a horizontal scraper. With this DIY you can make yourself the vertical scraper completely personalized and according to the colors of your decoration.

DIY 4 – PENDANT BED-BASKET

The king of easy DIY is this hanging basket.

Cats love the heights and a basket is something that can very easily be integrated in almost any decoration. The idea is to hang it on the wall on a piece of furniture through which the cat can reach it, and put inside a cushion or blanket. Simple as that and so cute!

DIY 5 – TIPI BED

A very original wooden Tipi that includes a vertical scraper on the side. And how cute that is in a boho decoration!
